Inaugural opening of land art installations by Olafur Eliasson, Simone Fattal and Ernesto Neto took place as part of the Qatar Creates Project.
Located at the Northern Heritage sites area of Qatar, Olafur Eliasson work Shadows Travelling On The Sea Of The Day is an invitation to resync with the planet. "It is a celebration of everything being in and moving through the desert site north of Doha — animals, plants and human beings; stories, traditions and cultural artefacts; wind, sunlight, air, and shimmering heat" — says the artist. The guests of the opening were treated to Arabic coffee & sweets at the traditional Arabic majlis style tent, located at the nearby Ain Mohammed Village.
